10. Concept Theme
Developed the concept idea (Journey) and Virtual Agent idea, based on
research and scoping of project / clients aims/objectives, that would
be innovative and new, in keeping with their and our/my aims. Discussed
idea with team members especially regarding tech + financial spec, in
relation to concepts viability.

11. Initial Information architecture:
I made a non-linear model incorporating all areas of clients business
(from brief, e-mail reply and meeting) and converted into a storyboard,
which incorporated the visual theme of the concept into the site/navigational
structure.

12. Navigation model prototype:
I created a ‘demo’ website with Fireworks and Dreamweaver,
to test navigation and to demonstrate to client during pitch + print
out as paper prototype for book.

13. Created Layout 1
Created a more detailed version of 1st proposed layout with PhotoShop.
From my research I new I wanted to create a ‘look and feel’
not specifically orientated to one gender, but more to emphasise aspects
of sports car ownership that would appeal to both, high-tech, sophisticated,
flashy, luxurious, and kept the whole design in synch with the ‘Journey’
concept:

14. Created Layout 2
Created an ‘alternative’ layout, based on competitor research
and to represent underlying ideas in a different way,
This was quite difficult as I was felt the original layout addressed
the areas required in the brief and from my own research. How could
I make something significantly different, without undermining the original
idea? I decided it could serve to show the client we’re about
concept and effective project management, rather than just purely design
based with only one style of product to offer. So I made the design
more traditional, as you always have to account for clients’ personal
tastes, the 1st layout could potentially be too contemporary for them,
and so we don’t want to alienate them by showing inflexibility
of design.
